OAKLAND RHYTHMIC GYMNASTICS: RHYTHMIC GYMNASTICS STARS (GR K-5)

Let’s get moving! Rhythmic Stars campers begin each session with simple stretching and creative warm-up techniques set to energizing music. Light cardio is incorporated to help build endurance, strength, flexibility and agility. Beginner handling of hoops, balls and ribbons is introduced through fun games and challenges to help develop hand/eye coordination and mastery of skills. Musicality is introduced as campers explore the basics of ballet, jazz and lyrical dance styles throughout the week, culminating in a skills performance on Friday. Campers should bring a water bottle and a snack. We encourage stretchy, fitted clothing and socks, for comfortable tumbling and dancing. Hair pulled back in a braid or ponytail is helpful. Instructors are former National level rhythmic gymnasts and USAG certified Professional Members.
